Welcome to Dinner and a Movie!

October’s film is a Hitchockian German mystery, Phoenix. A German-Jewish nightclub singer has survived World War II, but must undergo plastic surgery to reconstruct her face. When her husband does not recognize her, it provides the chance for her to determine if he was the one who betrayed her to the Nazis. For our abendessen, we will have zweibelkuchen, beetesalat, balsamic carrots and Brussel sprouts, stuffed cabbage, mashed potatoes, and black forest cake.

December’s class features a Lebanese tragi-comedy Where Do We Go Now?.

There are a few new recipes uploaded (Turkish Bread, Swedish Split Pea Soup, and Egyptian Koshari).
