Welcome to Dinner and a Movie!

Mustang is a powerful Turkish film about five free-spirited sisters who try to embrace a positive future in an oppressive social situation. Writer/Director Deniz Gamze Erguven has been acclaimed at film festivals around the world for this first effort. Based loosely on her experiences as a girl in Turkey, the film focuses on how cultures often sexualize and then seek to control young women. Our dinner will include Cheese Borek, Hummus and Veggies, Creamy Red Lentil Soup, Lamb Pilaf, Fasoulia, Turkish Bread, and Baklava with a side of Nectarines and honey yogurt.

In August we’ll enjoy English Vinglish while trying out a variety of New York street food.
